The
Aim
The main purpose of the youth exchange is to promote tools and methods for fostering the integration of refugees and migrants in their youth community, increasing awareness of the motives behind why refugees ‘choose’ to leave their homes and the difficulties they have to endure, fostering a non-formal approach toward tolerance and social inclusion proposing self-development tools and creativity, as a unique common language.

• Raise awareness of migrants’ growing inequalities in societies
• Develop youth's ability to work for/with migrants & refugees
• Understand and enhance empathy with the challenges and feelings refugees experience during the migratory journey
• Explore ways how to confront the problem of cultural differences, especially through intercultural dialogue
• Increase knowledge and skills on how youth can discover and share ways to facilitate a successful inclusion process, as through the use of creative tools
• Expand the youths’ intercultural and European dimensions

Project Steps
Preparation
in September and the beginning of October, chosen participants will work in national groups in order to prepare 2 activities that they will implement during the exchange: a playful and interactive presentation of their country and an activity related to the topic of migrations that will be added to the program of the exchange. The program coordinator will support each national group through a video call meeting, written communications and other inputs.
Youth Exchange
is the core activity of the project. Participants meet, share, experience, discover and learn on the topic of migrations. They also organize an exposition about migration and a fundraising fest for a cause of their choice that supports migrants.
Follow-Up
Back in their country, participants create and send new material for the exposition (time frame: 9th November - 30th December)
